The most famous tradition in China regarding this festival is that it is celebrated in the memory of the famous Chinese poet and important state official of his time, Chu Yuan.  As well as being a poet, Chou Yuan was also a minister in his home state of Chou. Today, the traditional festival Dragon Boat Festival is being celebrated all over China.  The festival is full of Color full cultural activities.  There are many traditions in China regarding this festival.  In addition, some facts related to this festival are also a sign of interest.  Chinese people will eat Zong Zi today.  There will be dragon boat races in different parts of the country.  People will remember the patriotic poet Cho Yuan.

When is the Dragon Boat Festival celebrated?


The Dragon Boat Festival is also called Duan Wu in Chinese. This festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This is a holiday all over China.  It is a cultural festival.

 He was forced into exile after falling victim to palace conspiracies.  In his absence, the neighboring state invaded his state.  His army was defeated in this battle.  Overwhelmed by this news, Choiyuan tied a heavy rock and drowned himself in the river.  The day this happened was the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
 When the people found out, they boarded boats in search of Cho Yuan.  Meanwhile, rice was tied to bamboo leaves and thrown into the river to distract fish and aquatic animals.  All the traditions of today are celebrated in remembrance of this day.
